Boy Scout Troop 200 will hold a flag retirement ceremony on May 7, 2018 at the Holjes-Sheppard Memorial Park in Lebanon Borough. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Local vexillologist and past Troop 200 Scoutmaster, Larry MOAT Friend will be on hand to share his knowledge about our flag and its history. The ceremony which is open to the public, will provide community members and local businesses the opportunity to retire their worn American flags in a respectful and appropriate manner.
For those that don’t know, the park is named in honor of two local, fallen heroes and members of Troop 200, Lt. Frederick Y. Holjes and Warrant Officer and helicopter pilot, Robert P. Sheppard who were killed during Vietnam. Sheppard was the troop's first Eagle Scout.
