2008 Parade

We hope you will be here on July 4th, 2008 when all the patriotic citizens of Hunterdon County carry out this year’s parade theme “AMERICA’S MOMENT’S IN HISTORY”.

BABY AND BIKE PARADE: Registration is at 8:30 AM, and judging takes place at 9:00, so please arrive early. Baby parade commences at 9:30 AM at Sutton Place (across from Police Headquarters), with the procession up Main Street for about ½ a block. There will be Awards for Most Patriotic, and Best Theme representation.

HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST: 1st and 2nd Place awards for your best Patriotic or theme related décor.

PRESENTATION OF STUDENTS OF THE MONTH FROM THE BOROUGH SCHOOL: 9:50 AM on Main Street.

MAIN PARADE: Steps off at 10:00 AM.

LINE UP & ROAD CLOSING: Line up between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. Please enter Main Street from Route 22 at the East end of town (by Stewart’s Root Beer Stand), no later than 9:00 AM, as the roads close at that time. The Celebration Committee members will help you find your place. Boy and Girl Scouts and Indian Guides are to muster with their troops at the Old Brick Post Office Building at 121 Main Street.

FESTIVITIES IN THE PARK: Join us at Holjes-Sheppard Park following the parade for festivities, including singing of “The Star Spangled Banner,” the flag raising ceremony, presentation of awards, refreshments, games & friendly competition for folks of all ages!

GENERAL PARADE TROPHIES: Judging takes place during the parade, with winners awarded in the park.

· Best Children’s Float/Unit

· Most Patriotic Float or Unit

· Best Non-Paid Unit with Music

     

ANTIQUE VEHICLE TROPHIES: Vehicles line up and are judged before 9:00 AM on Lynwood Drive. Vehicles arriving after 9:00 AM will not be judged. Please arrive early. Participation Trophies will be given to the first 50 vehicles.

FIRE COMPANY & RESCUE SQUAD TROPHIES: To thank ALL Emergency Service personnel, EACH Company will receive a trophy of Recognition, Thanks and Gratitude for their years of volunteer service protecting the communities at large, and their dedicated support and participation in the Lebanon Borough Fourth of July Parade and Celebration.

*** Participation is limited to 2 vehicles per Fire Company or Rescue Squad. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please Note:

  • For safety’s sake, there will be ABSOLUTELY NO THROWING/HANDING OUT of candy or items from floats, cars or by marchers.
  • This parade is a self-supporting event. Donations are our only means of support.
  • All Roads into Lebanon Borough CLOSE AT 9:00AM. Please arrive early!
