Lebanon’s July 4th Celebration has been one of our local traditions that began in 1948 and is now in our 70th year. This tradition has been kept alive by the dedication and hard work of the all the past and current members of the Lebanon 4th of July Celebration Committee, the many volunteers on the day of the parade, the support of local businesses and all of the generous donations given by residents and visitors alike.
The celebration starts for many residents’ months before as they make plans for decorating their houses and yards. Early on the morning of July 4th , the day begins with sirens blaring as the Lebanon Fire Company drives around waking up the town. The house judging team begins the job of reviewing all of the decorated houses to decide which houses will win this year’s awards. Every decorated house gets a July 4th Pennant.
